The most recognizable site in Cambodia is the ancient temple complex of Angkor Wat, in the Siem Riep province. Built in the early 12th century, the world’s largest religious monument was originally a Hindu temple before becoming tied to Buddhism 100 years later. Contributor Fabio Knoll used a drone to create a visual masterpiece of this ancient temple, once the seat of the Khmer Empire which ruled much of Southeast Asia. from the 9th to the 15th centuries AD.

Contributor Drone Heroes, who travels the world making promotional videos, used a combination of drone and ground cameras to capture the soothing waves and luxurious villas on this island paradise. Koh Rong is the country's second largest island.

Koh Rong Sanloem is an island off the coast of the Sihanoukville province in southwestern Cambodia. It lies to the south of the better known island Koh Rong. Beaches on these Cambodian islands have are now mentioned in the same breath as Bali and Phuket, other fabled beach regions in Southeast Asia. In this drone video, contributor Ben Freeley used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to give us a bird's eye view of this paradise on the Gulf of Thailand.

Phnom Penh is the largest city in Cambodia as well as the Southeast Asian country's capital. After being decimated during the reign of the Communist Khmer Rouge, who wished to see the city emptied by murder and "re-education" (read: torture and death) camps, the city has staged a dramatic comeback. Contributor Lifeshareofficial created this amazing aerial tour of this city, founded in the 14th century, which was once known as the Pearl of the Orient.

Cambodia's Siem Riep province, located in the northwestern part of the country, may be its most important from a cultural standpoint. It contains the city of Siem Riep (Cambodia's fifth largest) as well as the Angkor Wat temple complex, the remains of a Khmer Empire city which was one of the most important in the world from the 11th-13th centuries. Top contributor Christer Isulat used a drone to create this amazing region, which is now becoming a major tourist destination in Southeast Asia.

Sihanoukville is a medium sized city in southwestern Cambodia and the capital city of the province of the same name.  The only port of any size in the country, Sihanoukville lies in the heart of Cambodia's budding beach region, with the magnificent islands of Koh Rong and Koh Rong Saloem lying just offshore.  Contributor Hiro used a DJI drone to create this amazing aerial mini tour of this magical spot in Southeast Asia, which is starting to be compared to spots like Bali and Phuket.

As photogenic as the Ta Prohm Temple is, Drone Heroes uses it as a backdrop to instead showcase the charming, smiling faces of the Cambodian locals. Ta Prohm Temple is located in Angkor in the Siam Reap Province which covers the north central part of the country. This area is the home of some of Cambodia's greatest cultural treasures, most of which date to the great Khmer Rouge Empire which ruled much of Southeast Asia from here.

Check out this amazing drone video of Cambodia's largest waterfall, compliments of contributor Piak.  It goes by various names: Sopheakmit, Lbak Khoun, and Preah Nimith.  The falls are located on a waterway known as the Upper Mekong River in the northern part of this Southeast Asian country, near the border with Laos.  It's part of the Preah Vihear Province, which covers much of the north-central part of Cambodia.  The Mekong River is the principal waterway of the peninsula of Indochina.
