Kyrgyzstan from Above

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner Enrico Pescantini brings us this stunning drone video from the Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan.  The video opens with shots of a resort area on Issyk-Kul, the giant saline lake in the Tian Shan Mountains in the eastern part of the country.  From there, you'll head into a stunning valley in these mountains, and then into Shazka Canyon (aka the "Fairy Tale Canyon", just south of the lake.  The video ends with a shot looking across  Issyk-Kul, the world's second-largest mountain lake.    

If you've ever wondered about altitude limitations for being able to fly a drone, this video from top AirVuz contributor maga.fpv will surprise you.  He was able to fly his long-range FPV quad to the top of one of the world's highest mountains: Jengish Chokusu.  It's the tallest mountain in the Tian Shan range, which straddles the borders of  Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and China in Central Asia.  The mountain's peak, which lies along the Kyrgyzstan and China border, has an altitude of 24.4k ft. above sea level, or around 7.4km!

Formally known as the Kyrgyz Republic, Kyrgyzstan is a beautiful mountainous country located in Central Asia. Once part of the Soviet Union, it has been an independent country since the dissolution of that country in the early 1990's.  Kyrgyzstan is home to some of the most spectacular natural scenery in Asia, including some of its highest mountains.  In this video by contributor and pilot Mohamed Elangy, he uses a DJI Phantom drone to create an aerial portrait of this magical landlocked country.

Prepare to be blown away by this magnificent drone video of a canyon in the Central Asian republic of Kyrgyzstan.  It's known as the Fairy Tale Canyon, and when you watch the video you will see why.  Also known as Canyon Skazka, it's located in the vicinity of Issyk Lake, one of the other natural wonders of this amazing land astride the ancient Silk Road.  The spectacular rock formations (and the canyon itself) are a function of the highly unusual rock composition, wind, and water erosion factors here.  

Global Air Media shot this short but stunning drone video of one of the most famous sights of the Central Asian republic of Kyrghystan: Sulayman Mountain.  It's located in the city of Osh, the country's second largest city after Bishkek.  Located roughly in the middle of the famed Silk Road, Sulayman is named after the prophet Sulayman from the Koran, who is believed to be buried here.  It's a major Muslim Pilgrimage site and the only UNESCO World Heritage site located entirely within the country.  

Take a ride through Kyrgyzstan in this drone travel video by AirVuz contributor and pilot ChriLo. The pilot took his DJI Mavic Pro and GoPro Hero 7 out to the Central Asian country where he spent 15-days exploring some of the world's most remote  terrain. Some of the locations he captured while there included Bischkek, Töö Ashuu Pass, the Toktogul lake, Lenin Peak, and so much more.  Kyrgyzstan  is one of the Central Asian republics which became independent countries following the breakup of the USSR in the early 1990's.   

Contributor BaliDroneProduction ventured far from home to create this amazing drone video of two of the most spectacular areas of Central Asia.   Issyk-Kul is a large saline lake in the eastern part of Kyrgyzstan.  Almost 180 km (about 110 mi.) long, it's the seventh deepest lake in the world.  Charyn Canyon is a 90 km (about 55 mi.) long canyon in the southeastern corner of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan's eastern neighbor.  Formed by the river of the same name, it is considered one of the world's great canyons.

Mohamed Elbangy put together this marvelous drone video from the Alay Valley of Kyrgyzstan, the Central Asian republic.  The valley runs through the southern part of Osh, one of the main provinces in the southern part of the country.  The valley is formed by the Alay Mountains to the north and the Trans-Alay Mountains to the south.  The latter is part of the Pamir system, whose highest peak (which is located to the east, in western China) is over 7.6k meters or 25k ft. - among the highest in the world.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor chingiz_life brings us this excellent drone video of what is believed to be the tallest waterfall in Central Asia.  It's called Shaar Waterfall, and it's located in the Naryn Region of south-central Kyrgyzstan.  Situated in a gorge of the Bash-Kaindy River, the falls has a drop of about 720 ft. or around 220 m.  Including the cascades, the total drop of the waterfall is about 1.3k ft. or around 400 m.   The altitude here is about 10.5k ft. above sea level or around 3.2k m.  

Prepare to be amazed by this stunning DVOW-nominated drone video of some of the most beautiful scenery in Central Asia, compliments of fabionodari.  The video was filmed in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, the two easternmost countries of the region.  Some of the highlights include the magnificent Lake Kaindy, an alpine lake east of Kazakhstan's largest city Almaty which is known for its submerged tree trunks; Charyn Canyon, a bit further to the east; the Canyon Skazka in northern Kyrgyzstan; and more.
