Cartagena is located on the north (Caribbean) coast of Colombia.  It's a major shipping port (the country's largest, measured by overall freight volume) and Colombia's fifth largest city.  Cartagena was founded by the Spanish in the 16th century, and went on to become the largest seaport in the once-mighty Spanish Empire.  In this video, contributor Alta Vista Epic Aerials used a DJI Mavic Pro drone to create an amazing aerial view of this walled South American city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

San Felipe Castle

Castillo San Felipe de Barajas

The city of Cartagena, Colombia has a storied history.  During Colonial days, the city became the most important port in the Spanish Empire, serving as the hub through which the vast silver and gold deposits of the Western Hemisphere passed en route to the mother country.  Key to the defense of Cartagena was the Castillo San Felipe de Barajas (San Felipe Castle), which sits in a highly strategic position on a hill overlooking the city.  Seen here in this drone video by rkmaerial, the great fortification was built beginning in 1536.
