BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

The Pochaiv Lavra is one of the most revered and largest shrines of Ukraine, visited annually by thousands of people from all over the world, the monks of the monastery pray day and night for peace in Ukraine and around the world.

The holy monastery is one of the three most beautiful Orthodox monasteries in Eastern Europe.

The monastery was founded by monks who appeared here in 1240-1241, escaping from the Tatar-Mongols, who captured and destroyed Kyiv. At the same time, the monks received the blessing of the Mother of God. She appeared to them on a rock, leaving a trace of her right foot on the stone, from which healing water began to flow.

In 1597, the monastery received as a gift from the local landowner Anna Goyska considerable land, estates and the most precious treasure - a miraculous image of the Mother of God, the healing miracles of this icon are endless, as well as the flow of pilgrims from all over the world!

In the summer of 1675, during the war with the Turks, regiments consisting of Tatars approached the Pochaiv monastery, surrounding it from three sides.

The weak monastery fence, as well as several stone buildings of the monastery, did not represent any protection for the besieged.

On the morning of July 23, at sunrise, the Tatars held the last meeting about storming the monastery. The abbot ordered the akathist of the Mother of God to be sung. With the first words of the "Elect Voivode", the Most Pure Mother of God suddenly appeared above the monastery, "with heavenly angels holding naked swords. Monk Job was near the Mother of God, bowing to Her and praying for the protection of the monastery.

The Tatars mistook the heavenly army for a ghost, and in the confusion began to shoot at the Holy Mother of God and Saint Job, but the arrows returned and wounded those who fired them. Terror gripped the attackers. In a panicked escape, they killed each other without taking care of their own. The defenders of the monastery gave chase and captured many. Some prisoners later accepted the Orthodox faith and remained in the monastery forever.

Every person who turns to the Pochaiv icon of the Mother of God with a heartfelt prayer is given spiritual, mental and physical help both secretly and openly.

Each of those who come to the shrine has something that can be expressed only with a prayerful breath.
