Another fantastic weekend of racing and hanging out at Disneyland's California Adventure with my lovely wife, Pam. I feel all the practice this summer and fall is paying off, I took first place on both days of this event! Despite recent wins, I still feel there's more room to grow and I'm going to even harder in 2017.
I never race with a GoPro, but my primary and secondary race quads were both acting up this weekend and I was forced to race my garage beater! I brought this along to fly at night with local pilots and ended up using it both days for competition. Changing quads during qualifying was rough, but I actually found the QAV easier to fly on the tight track since I could tilt the camera down to ~20deg. My racers minimum camera angle was around 35 or 40deg. I left the gopro on so I wouldn't have to re-tune.
Shout out to all the pilots at the event and to the organizers for all their hard work!
After the race, Pam and I "relaxed" and walked around the park for 14 hours straight. Good times, I tried my first hot link corn dog. Two of my favorite things, not a good combination.
