During her life, she made more than 1000 crossings of the Atlantic, principally between Southampton and New Your. During World War II she was converted to a troupe carrier...painted navy grey...becoming known as the "Grey Ghost." During the war, the Queen Mary transported Prime Minister Winston Churchill across the Atlantic on several occasions to meet with fellow Allied leaders. Since 1967, the Queen Mary has been docked in Long Beach serving as a hotel and museum.
