A Flight above bloody middle age History

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Here's an aerial view of a famous castle in Southern France, compliments of Uwe3005. It's called Château de Quéribus, and it's located in the Aude Department. The castle is considered one of the Five Sons of Carcassone, a line of castle-fortresses which once sat on the French-Spanish frontier in the days before the border moved to the Pyrenees crest. Before that, it was closely associated with the Cathars, a breakaway religious movement which was eventually crushed by the emerging nation-state of France.

A brief look into french and middle-age brutal and bloody History...
"Quéribus" - Castle / "Chateau Quéribus".....in rough landscape, high above on top of a mountain...

In the year 1255, the last refuge of the "Cathars", a religious community, which rebelled against the pope, Pomp and Blasphemie of the church, and demanded a pure church of Faith....

An impregnable fortress... but they had to give up, after a long siege by the mercenaries of the Pope. Those who didn't abjured their faith, were burned at the stake....
