A winters day - Emerald Bay - Lake Tahoe

Emerald Bay - a Lake Tahoe gem. Located on the west side of Lake Tahoe, Emerald Bay is well known for its spectacular views, stunning clear water and waterfalls. The bay was carved during the last ice age by glaciers descending from the Desolation Wilderness Ice Field. Lower Eagle Falls, located at the far western edge of the bay, cascades over 150 feet before flowing into Emerald Bay. While the site is packed during the summer, there are typically few people present during the winter months, making it an idyllic place to visit.
