Academico FC - Arsenal de Canelas (air & ground shots)

Hi everyone, Today's video is a bit different from what we usually cover on this channel, and it's personal. This is footage from an inline speed skating competition between national teams from across Portugal, held at Arsenal de Canelas on the 26th and 27th of September. I filmed this one differently too, mixing aerial shots with my Mavic 3 Pro with ground-level footage, rigging the drone onto a dedicated katana to get right down at track level with the skaters. My two daughters joined the Academico FC inline roller team back in 2025, when we first arrived in Porto, and this competition was their very first speed track event. Watching them out there, alongside kids and teenagers from teams all over the country, was something special. This sport is fast, competitive, and demanding, but what struck me most this weekend wasn't just the racing. It was the team spirit, the encouragement between skaters, the effort every single one of them put in. It's a sport, yes, but really, it's a family. I hope this video gives you a sense of that energy and that camaraderie, as much as it gives you a look at the speed and skill on that track. Enjoy the flight (and this time also the ground shots).
