The Throggs Neck Bridge is the newest and easternmost of the six bridges which span the East River in New York City. Situated just east of the Bronx Whitestone Bridge, it carries the traffic of Interstate 295 from the Bay Terrace neighborhood of Queens to the Throggs Neck neighborhood in the Bronx. Opened in 1961, the longest span of the suspension bridge is 550 meters, or about 1.8k ft. The Throgs Neck Bridge is a suspension bridge opened on January 11, 1961, over the East River and connect boroughs of Bronx with Queens & Long Island. The Throgs Neck Bridge was planned and managed by Robert Moses, NYC Commissioner of reconstruction New York City. His first plan dates back to 1945.
