AirVūz News: World of Drones 5/28/19

Updated 05/28/2019 09:08
Angie at AirVuz headquarters gets the community caught up with what’s happening in the World of Drones.

Team AirVuz pilot, JohnnyFPV, has done it again! Joining forces with travel brand Beautiful Destinations to push the limits of FPV and cinematography. Johnny Schaer flew his quad around the famous hot air balloons of Cappadocia in Turkey in what he calls the, “craziest FPV experience” he’s ever had. Johnny released the 60 second teaser on AirVuz.com over the weekend and one thing is for sure, the full video is going to be insane.

Now onto your news headlines…Monkeys in Africa are using a specific call to warn each other about drones. At the forests of a national park in Senegal, researchers flew drones over a community of green monkeys to see how they would respond to a new flying object in their environment. The monkeys responded immediately using similar calls they use in response to eagles. These findings suggest that monkeys use specific calls for aerial threats.

Drone manufacturer, DJI, is adding plane and helicopter detection features to its consumer drones. The company will add Airsense technology to all of its consumer drones weighing half a pound. The feature senses Automatic Dependent Surveillance-broadcast Signals and will alert the drone pilot when a helicopter or airplane is in range. This will go into effect January 1, 2020.

Marjorie Ferrone, COO of Drone Parks Worldwide, is being recognized by the House of Representatives and the state of Texas this week for her role as a woman in the drone industry. Marjorie along with Nick Madincea co-founded their company in 2016 and just last year AirVuz News spoke to them about their success. You can find the link to that story in the description.
AirVuz has a brand new original show, Aerial Traveler takes you on a journey around the world, learn about the locations featured while watching breathtaking drone footage. Catch the latest episode that featuresCentral France, it’s up on AirVuz.com now.
