AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Brand-new contributor socalhiking brings us this excellent drone video of Amboy Crater, am extinct mini-volcano in the Mojave Desert of Southern California.  It's located just a few km/mi from its namesake town, which lies on the fabled Route 66.  Formed around 80k years ago, the volcano has a height of 76 meters or around 250 ft.  The crater was used as a filming location for the 1959 science fiction film Journey to the Center of the Earth.  In 1973, it was designated the  Amboy Crater National Natural Landmark.
