I've been flying FPV for 9 months now. For my 100th flight anniversary, Escape FPV took me on the most famous bando in France adventure. He took me to this bando paradise. I've been willing to fly this bando since the first day I saw the Back2bando video from Tomz FPV about a year ago. Going there with him and Escape FPV was the cherry on top of the cake that made the whole experience one of the best FPV memories I hold strong in my heart. While we were having lunch on the terrace that was once the reception (it's the building I go fly inside with my drone in this video), Escape FPV told me the story about this place. These 5 buildings were a retirement home for old people. But the real estate company in charge of this housing project didn't have all the authorisations from the city council and yet, started to build the project and open it to the public. The retirement home has been running for few years and suddenly got shut down by the city council ten years ago, forcing the old people to relocate themselves to other places and causing the place to go bankrupt and leaving this place totally desert. Sad story for some, but a blessing from Heaven for FPV drone racing pilots that have the chance to visit the place and spend an amazing day flying and explore all the different possibilities. There's so much to do there that you could spend every single weekend there and not get tired of the place. That's what EscapeFPV does almost every weekend for couple years now. He learned it all there. It was my first time flying my quadcopter there. It really felt like the Disneyland of FPV. I've managed to fly 5 batteries before crashing really bad on a tree branch while diving between trees. The GoPro ejected, the XT60 ground wire pulled the ground solder pad from my Aikon 4-in-1 ESC and one of my arm broke. Of course I came from the UK with no spare, totally unprepared, except props, I had loads of props hahaha. I didn't think I'd be pushing that hard to be honest. But that's what it is every time I fly next to Tomz. I think his presence gives me wings and confidence. And suddenly I'm doing something I didn't even think I'd be doing. Here the little story of the crazy gap you're seeing on the video at 0:52 : Tomz FPV has been challenging EscapeFPV every time they've been meeting lately. Escape asked him: "What's my challenge of the day Tomz?" What is it?". Last time it was a matti flip between tall trees causing him to crash on top of one and climbing it. Both of them were tuned on my video feed, watching me fly. I was trying to do this dive Tomz did in his Back2Bando video and going under the covered courtyard and that's when I saw a much small gap and say: "wow, there's a gap there" and I start turning around it. Tomz then said to Escape: "Here's your challenge, fly over the building, dive and gap in this tiny hole". Escape laughed nervously and said "what? Are you crazy? that's impossible! I'm going to destroy my quad!". I keep turning around, I do 2 try-outs which I bail last minute, causing both of them to sweat a little and then I go for the kill, very relaxed on the sticks. And at that point they didn't think I was trying to hit it but I thought since Escape was not going to do Tomz challenge, why shouldn't I try it? I went straight in and as the adrenaline was making me almost passing out I hear them exploding of emotion and joy. I remember Tomz saying: "I think I just had a heart attack". When I heard Tomz saying that, that's when I realised: whatever would happened next, I had the best day of my FPV life.
