Battle Of Narvik. German Destroyer "Georg Thiele"
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Nazi Germany invaded Norway and Denmark in early April, 1940, ending the so-called Phony War phase which marked the outbreak of World War II in Western Europe. While the invasions were ultimately successful, the Norwegian operation triggered the Battle of Narvik, when a Royal Navy flotilla was able to knock out a number of German destroyers. In this drone video by Maximus_NO, you'll get an aerial view of the remains of the Georg Thiele, which was scuttled here when it ran out of ammunition.

"Georg Thiele" was a German destroyer who participated in the battle of Narvik in 1940. The ship was out of ammo and low on fuel and escaped with several boats into Rombaksfjord outside Narvik, where it was beached. The ship later broke in two and turned upside down.
