Tokaj-Hegyalja is one of Europe's most famous wine regions, covering portions of northeastern Hungary and southeastern Slovakia. The region is noted for its Tokaji sweet wine, which is mentioned in Hungary's national anthem, and which is sourced from six different varieties of grapes grown in the region. Most of the region is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site called the Tokaj Wine Region Historic Cultural Landscape.
