Check out this fascinating drone video from a large lake in a remote corner of Mongolia, compliments of contributor 187video. Üüreg is a saline lake in the far western part of the country, not far from the Russian border. Formed in a desert depression, the lake is home to a number of waterfowl and other bird species, as well as a wide range of other fauna and flora. Roughly 12 mi. across at its widest (around 20 km), the lake covers a surface area of 92 square mi. (239 square km) with a maximum depth of just under 140 ft. (42 m).

Bird Island is located on Lake Uureg, which is located in the northwestern part of Mongolia. According to the legends told by the locals, this lake has been inhabited since ancient times by a huge snake, the Mongolian analogue of the Loch Ness Monster.
