Manzushir monastery
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Contributor Jack Jamka created this stunning drone video of an old Buddhist "Gompa" in Mongolia called Manzushir. Gompas are multi-purpose structures which were built by Buddhist monks to provide physical security as well as sanctuaries for quiet contemplation and learning. It was originally built in 1733, but destroyed during a period of civil strife in the 1930's. The remains of the monastery complex are a short distance to the south of the country's capital Ulaanbaatar, in the central part of the country.
