Carassina Valley 🍁 (Ticino, Switzerland)
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Check out this excellent drone video of Switzerland's Lukmanier Pass, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Kpax. With an altitude of 1.9k meters above sea level (just under 6.3k ft.), the pass connects the Val Medel and the Blenio valley. Its road runs between the municipality of Disentis in the canton of Grisons (Graubünden) to the town of Biasca in the neighboring canton of Ticino. The pass is open to traffic in the winter months, although often only during daytime hours.

Val Carassina is an outstretched valley used for grazing in summer. That’s why it was made accessible by a dirt road, on which mountain bikers progress faster than hikers, of course. Carassina valley extends for about 6km from the Compietto dam to the Capanna Adula CAS with an altitude difference of only 300m.
