The Chapel of Lord of the Stone is located in the Beach of Miramar, parish of Gulpilhares, county of Vila Nova de Gaia, district of the Port, in Portugal. It was erected on a rock by the sea in 1686. It is believed that the origin of the cult in the Chapel of the Lord of the Stone can originate in an old pagan cult, of naturalistic character, of the pre-Christian people, whose divinities were venerated in full nature, having later been converted to Christianity The pilgrimage to Senhor da Pedra is one of the most traditional of both Vila Nova de Gaia and the parish of Gulpilhares. It is held annually on the beaches of Senhor da Pedra, on the Sunday of the Holy Trinity, and lasts until the following Tuesday.
