The capital of its namesake province in the region of Southeast Anatolia, the city is strategically between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, near the Syrian border. The city was under control of many different empires over the centuries, including the Assyrian, Achaemenid (Persian), Roman, Mongol, and Ottoman Empires. Shot with a drone and ground camera, the video features some excellent aerial shots of the Great Mosque of Mardin.
