The Pozzi SheepfoldsThe Pozzines (from Corsica i Pozzi which means Well) form acidic peat bog lawns crossed by winding streams.They are located at altitudes between 1700 and 2300 meters.They occupy depressions formed by ancient lakes of glacial origin; they come from the filling of the latter with clay deposits and numerous dead plants.In Corsica, the deposits of the oldest pozzines date back around 12,000 years.
