Check out this drone video from the very southernmost province of Russia, compliments of contributor Rasul Abdurazakov.  Dagestan is the southernmost republic in the North Caucasus Region, the southernmost of Russia's official regions.  Dagestan is in the heart of the great Caucasus region which straddles Europe and Asia.  It has a long coastline on the Caspian Sea, and a mountainous interior. It's known as the most ethnically diverse of Russia's republics, with a large Muslim population.
