Went to fly at an abandoned air base which, since 2013, is now a recreational area open for the public. The air base still has a lot of old buildings primarily post cold war. The big hangars seen is now a museum for military vehicles, gun, tanks and other cold war material. The base was built during the 1st World War as a compound for recruits. It was expanded and rebuilt during the 2nd World war to an air base. The 9th of April 5:25AM the air base was attacked by a squadron of German Messerschmidt Bf 110s which destroyed 90% of the planes on the ground within 45 minutes. Today the air base is open to the public. The old buildings are worth an Urbex visit but most of them are in serious decay. Landed on top of one of the old F-16 shelters - I bet no one did that before :-) When I went to the university in the mid 90's I visitied the then active air base and got the see the F-16s up close - what an experience. _ Music by The Epidemic Sound (http://www.epidemicsound.com/) and others.
