Pilot stavraero_spb has brought us to the mysterious Vottovarra Mountain in Karelia, a region in northwest Russia bordering Finland. The site was considered sacred by the Sami people and is an ancient pagan site of worship. The region holds Lake Onega, where archaeologists discovered 1,200 rock drawings that are estimated to be 5 to 6 thousand years old. You can see the odd boulders that are scattered across Vottovaara Mountain that have also made the site famous for both tourists and archeaologists.
Description: Mount Vottovaara — a complex of ancient stone structures known as seids — hanging or flying stones. The scale of the complex is amazing — over hundreds of large and small rocks form a complex system of geometric shapes and mazes. The size of the complex is much higher than all the public in Europe and Scandinavia, places of worship.
