Doolough Valley
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Ireland's Doolough Valley is centered on Doo Lough (lake) in County Mayo, in the western part of the country. Seen here in this drone video by AirVuz contributor shaskeen, the valley was the scene of a well-known tragedy during the Great Irish Famine of 1845-9 in which up to a quarter of the Irish population perished from Hunger. The Doolough Tragedy occurred in March, 1849, when relief officials forced hundreds of starving to walk 19 km (12 mi.) in poor weather for an inspection, in the course of which many perished.

This video was shot on New years eve in Doolough valley in Co.Mayo, Ireland. The valley itself saw hundreds of people perish during the famine times. The untouched landscape is just breathtaking. I find myself being drawn to this place because no matter what you're doing there you always feel better after spending some time there. I hope you enjoy this one. Happy new year people! wishing you all the best.....Shaskeen.
