Dutch Winter

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Top contributor and pilot Jeroen Schrage Videography created this amazing winertime aerial video of the largest lake in the Netherlands.  It's called the IJsselmeer, and it's actually only been a lake since the 1930's, when the North Sea inlet known as the Zuiderzee was closed off with a dyke due to ongoing flood risks.  Fed by the IJssel (a Rhine River distributary), the IJsselmeer is now a freshwater reservoir.  Given the climate, the lake partially freezes in winter, as you'll see in the video.
