At Southeast of Cajas National Park is located a wide glacial valley that starts from the Runa Shayana edge and finishes in the forest of Mazan. The valley of the Hato de Chocar, whose name is due to a herd of cattle that boomed in the 1950s and 1960s, because the amplitude in a corridor of more than 6 km long with good pasture allowed livestock activities, which by the way today are not allowed due to policies of conservation of the wetlands of El Cajas. The river that flows through its center is called Mazan, whose waters leave from the lagoon of Totoracocha and leave along its route beautiful corners full of landscapes that allow to enjoy summits shaped by time, such as the peaks Yanaurcos, Pallcarumi, Runa Shayana, Pan de Azúcar (Sugar Loaf), Loro Urco, Chuspihuayco, among others.
