England: Viaduct - Darwin's Home - Castle - Creek

Eynsford Viaduct consists of nine arches 9 m wide and 22,5 meters high and was built 1859, starting out with one track - the second was added next year.

Charles Darwin bought Down House and lived here with his family for 40 years. Here he wrote "On the Origin of Species". Unfortunately one can't even take pictures inside - my last visit - otherwise it was quite interesting.

Hadleigh Castle was build 1215 by Hubert de Burgh who was regent for underage Henry III. 1239 he had to hand back the castle that was important to secure the Thames river. Edward II and III refined the castle's defenses. 

Clementsgreen Creek made for a lovely early morning flight. It's part of the network of tidal rivers of the Blackwater Estuary System.
