The Babia y Luna natural park is a protected area located in the province of León, in the autonomous community of Castilla y León, Spain. It extends over an area of 46,626 hectares and is home to a great diversity of flora and fauna, as well as a rich cultural and historical heritage. The natural park is characterized by its mountain landscapes, with peaks exceeding 2,000 meters in altitude, glacial valleys, beech and oak forests, harvested meadows and grasslands. Among the animal species that inhabit the natural park, the brown bear, the Iberian wolf, the golden eagle, the griffon vulture and the capercaillie stand out. The natural park also preserves samples of traditional Leonese architecture, such as the brañas, the pallozas and the granaries, as well as vestiges of Celtic and Roman culture.
