In this area of Galicia, which borders Asturias, seimeira is the name given to waterfalls.

The Seimeira de Vilagocende is one of the many waterfalls in Galicia, but this seimeira is special, since it is one of the highest waterfalls in Galicia in free fall, surpassing other high-altitude waterfalls such as the spectacular Fervenza do Toxa.

You will be fascinated as you contemplate the descent of more than 50 meters of the Porteliña River, a river that originates in A Serra do Hospital between peaks of more than 1000 m. and that forms places of great beauty before flowing into the Lamas River, a tributary of the Navia River.

The source of the Miño River is in O Pedregal de Irimia, in the Sierra de Meira, just 3 kilometers from the small town that has the same name. Of all the sources from which the river is supplied, the Pedregal de Irimia is the highest (620 meters) and without a doubt, the most original.

The source of the Miño is made up of dozens of springs that extend along the western slope of the mountain and create three main streams that join a little further down, in the recreational area of O Porto da Pena. There a small river is formed that passes through Meira and crosses Fonmiñá towards the capital of Lugo in its search for the Atlantic.
