Fenestrelle Fort

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :

Italy's Fenestrelle Fortress overlooks its namesake town in the Metropolitan City of Turin.  As the largest alpine fortification in Europe, the massive attraction covers an incredibly large area of 1.3 million square meters (about 140 million square ft.). Built between 1728 and 1850, the fortress guards the access to Turin, Italy via the Chisone Valley. After World War II,  the fort was abandoned and left to decay.
