The tall ship Tree of Life grounded off Woods Hole on July 20th, 2023 - one of the most treacherous waterways in North America. I wanted this drone experience to be a bit difference. With respect to the public attention and the grounding - engines fail, mistakes happen and you learn from them. She might be grounded, but that doesn't take away from natural beauty of the surrounding coastline, and the ship herself! Enjoy some long one shots, beautiful Cape Cod coastline, and some of the most unique shots you will see of a grounding! You can see charts above the ferry terminals, the various markings of the waterway(s), and the various rock formations below the surface. Ship grounding or ship stranding is the impact of a ship on seabed or waterway side. It may be intentional, as in beaching to land crew or cargo, and careening, for maintenance or repair, or unintentional, as in a marine accident. In accidental cases, it is commonly referred to as "running aground". When unintentional, grounding may result simply in stranding, with or without damage to the submerged part of the ship's hull.
