BADGES THIS VIDEO HAS EARNED:

Filming aircraft in flight with a drone is a high-risk operation where there is absolutely no room for improvisation.

These images were captured during Air Invictus in Porto, following detailed planning and constant coordination with the event organisation, the Portuguese Public Security Police and the National Aeronautical Authority.

Every flight path, altitude, distance and timing was carefully assessed in advance to ensure the operation remained fully authorised, controlled and safe.

To create the sensation of being much closer to the aircraft, I used the 70mm and 180mm telephoto lenses of the DJI Mavic 4 Pro. Their optical compression brought the aircraft visually closer while allowing the drone to maintain the required safety distances at all times.

The result is a rare cinematic perspective, placing the viewer incredibly close to the action while maintaining strict separation between the drone and the aircraft.

The most challenging images are not achieved through recklessness. They require experience, preparation, communication and absolute respect for aviation safety.

Filmed in Porto, Portugal, with the DJI Mavic 4 Pro.
