Isle of Wight - Houses: Appuldurcombe, Osborne, Yarmouth plus Calshot

Appuldurcombe House was once the greatest house on the isle and is a masterpiece of English Baroque. Building started 1701 and continued in phases for more than a hundred years. Today parts of it are restored in a basic manner: roof and windows and not much more.

Osborne House was built by Queen Victoria and is full of stuff - no filming inside as I was told... The gardens are even more impressive.

Yarmouth Castle sits right next to the ferry terminal and is rather tight.
