It's called Kvaløya, and it's located north of the better-known Lofoten Islands in Troms County, well inside the Arctic Circle. Covering an area of about 285 square miles (737 square km), it's Norway's fifth-largest island by area. Kvaløya is connected to three neighboring islands as well as the mainland by bridge or underwater tunnel. Most of its roughly 13k permanent residents live on its eastern side.
