La Rochelle

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : La Rochelle is one of the most important ports on France's western (Atlantic Ocean) coastline. Seen here in this drone video by DRHON-EL, it's located on the Bay of Biscay, roughly halfway between the estuary of the Loire River (to the north) and the Gironde River (to the south). Founded in the 10th century, La Rochelle rose to prominence beginning around the 12th century. The video features nice footage of the town, including (starting at the 2:01 mark) a great shot of Saint Nicolas Tower, one of the town's most famous landmarks.
