Laomei Green Reef and Fugui Cape Lighthouse (Shimen , New Taipei City)

Laomei Green Reef is located on the North Coast near the Laomei Community in Shimen District. Every April and May after the northeast monsoons die down, algae covers the neat rows of stone troughs here with a vibrant green, creating a rare and spectacular sight. The lighthouse at Fugui Cape was built by the Japanese in 1897, The lighthouse marks the northernmost point of land of the island of Taiwan, and has been an important landmark.
