Litli Hrútur - Fagradalsfjall Eruption

Former DVOW Winner Ananda Joinet brings us this spectacular aerial view of the volcanic eruption in Iceland which captured worldwide attention over the Summer of 2023.  The Litli Hrútur eruption, which began in early July and ran for about a month, was the latest in a series of eruptions of the Fagradalsfjall volcano near Reykjavik which began in early 2021, the first volcanic activity on the Reykjanes Peninsula in over 800 years.  The initial lava flows from the Litli Hrútur were the highest yet seen during this recent cycle of activity.
