Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist DanieleCeravolo was one of a number of drone pilots who made their way to Iceland when the Fagradalsfjall volcano began its third major eruption in as many years near Litli-Hrútur in July of 2023. A major volcanic event, the initial lava flows from the fissure were as much as 1.75k cubic ft. per second (50 cubic m/s), ten times that see in the first modern era eruption here in early 2021. The video was filmed with a DJI Mavic 3 as well as the first person view (FPV) Avata drone.

One of the greatest experiences of my life, I decided to leave for Iceland as soon as the news of the new eruption was published online. Over twenty kilometers on foot to admire it, with a 12kg backpack loaded with drones and batteries, ready to immortalize this show.
