If you look at a map of Ireland, you'll quickly understand why the peninsulas which make up much of the southern part of the country's Atlantic (western) coast would represent a navigational challenge for ships. Not surprisingly, these peninsulas are home to some of the country's most iconic lighthouses, including the one you'll see in this drone video by Hartwell Photography: the Loop Head Lighthouse, in County Clare. Built in 1854 and automated since 1991, the lighthouse stands 23 meters tall (about 75 ft.).
