The Venetian Lagoon extends some distance both to the northeast as well as to the south of Venice, Italy.  While the southern part of the lagoon is basically open water, the northern stretch has hundreds of small islands.  Mostly salt marshes, mudflats, and shallows, this is considered the largest wetland area in the Mediterranean region.  In this drone video by new AirVuz contributor MAVIC Over Venice, you'll get an aerial tour of this ecological wonder.  The video was filmed around the settlement of Lio Piccolo in the northern lagoon.
