MMA Tug and Towing Program - 4K Drone Experience!

Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Tug and Towing program is designed to give cadets a theoretical and practical knowledge of the tug industry. The program is divided into two semesters, Tug1 and Tug 2 and is a combination of lecture classroom and simulation exercises in both a simulator setting and onboard the Academy’s tugs. Cadets learn on two Tug: ALERT, a 26 Ft 90HP Single Screw vessel and HERCULES, a 26 Ft 75 HP twin screw vessel. Successful candidates of the program have the opportunity to complete the Towing Officer Assessment Record (TOAR), and may graduate with a Mate/pilot of towing vessels endorsement after completing training and observation on a towing vessel
