Top contributor iDrone Aerials created this magnificent drone video of one of the world's most famous monasteries as well as one of the most recognizable sites in France. Mont Saint-Michel is a tiny island off the coast of Normandy, one of the regions of northwestern France. The Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey, which sits atop the island and is its centerpiece, dates to the 8th century. It is prominently visible in the famous Bayeux Tapestry which commemorates the Norman conquest of England in the 11th century.

This video is dedicated to the beautiful monastery of Mont Saint-Michel. It has always been a dream of mine to visit this wonderful place on Earth and I hope to go back in the future when high tide is there. The monastery was initially built in the 11th century, burned, and then rebuilt again. It has been used as a prison and war garrison throughout the centuries, including through WW2.
