MotoGP Rookie Cup - Full Lap Battle at Jerez | Red Bull Drone 1

AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE : Legendary first person view (FPV) drone pilot was picked as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist and also made the FPV Pilots to Watch list with this fantastic FPV video of a Red Bull motocross event in Spain. The drone used in filming was a custom-made Red Bull Drone 1, which was used to film Formula 1 races and is capable of reaching speeds of over 200 mph (around 350 km/h). The race filmed was the Red Bull Rookies Cup, which was held in the city of Jerez de la Frontera in the southern part of the country.

Back in the spring of 2024, we spent 2 days doing tests to combine the Red Bull Rookies cup with our 350kph Red Bull Drone 1, during one of their practice events. Although this drone was built to follow formula 1 cars, it turns out it is very well suited for motorbikes as well! It's not just fast enough to keep up, we can also get very low behind the bikes, as well as complete 2 full laps of the track on 1 battery. This put us on track to develop the drone further and develop it for LIVE Broadcasting as well! We're now hoping to work towards putting this drone to work on future live broadcasts at the Rookies Cup. This shot is one of the many shots from that shoot, showing some great battles between of these talented young riders. Hopefully more shots soon!
