The Mussy-sous-Dun viaduct was built in three years, between 1892 and 1895. Three long years of work to establish a railway line in the valley.

It is March 1891, on the southern slope of Dun hill, in the canton of Chauffailles. Members of the municipal council have just approved the establishment of the Mussy-sous-Dun station of the Paray-le-Monial railway in Lozanne. The administration and the railway concession company are urged to ensure its execution. There is no more time to lose. And for good reason, the first construction projects date back to 1870.
