Ourense, a spa town.
Good evening, this time I bring you a video of the place where I live, Ourense in Galicia, Spain. Images of the three thermal areas that are located next to the Miño River. Starting with those located further south (Outariz). The waters that emanate in this space are of weak mineralization, hyperthermal, sodium biocarbonate, fluorinated and sulphurous. They emerge at various points between the cracks in the granite rock, with large flows at a temperature around 60º C. With a pH of 7.98 in Outariz and 7.88 in Burga de Canedo. Continuing towards the city we will find the Muiño da Veiga thermal baths, made up of five pools: a main pool of 200 m2, a second of 130 m2 and two smaller ones of 55 and 45 m2, as well as a pool of cold water for contrast baths. The bathing water here is around 40º C. The entire area is fed by several springs that flow at temperatures between 65 and 72º C, some of the warmest on the Peninsula. The waters in this bathing area are weakly mineralised and alkaline: bicarbonate-sodium, fluoridated and silicate. The third, and already close to the city, are known as A Chavasqueira, which is made up of a group of small open-air pools built of stone and surrounded by the vegetation of the Miño riverbank. The bathing pools, where the water is around 40º C, are located in a large garden area on the banks of the Miño, a perfect place to rest and sunbathe. The waters that spring from this space are hyperthermal (spring temperature 63.6ºC), of medium mineralisation, fluoridated with predominant bicarbonate and sodium ions, very soft and with a pH of 7.82At minute 02:14 we see the well-known O Tinteiro spring. This is a much loved and visited thermal spring in the city. Popular tradition attributes important therapeutic properties to these thermal waters. Due to their composition, rich in minerals such as sulphur, these waters are especially indicated for the care of skin conditions. It is common to see local people approaching with basins to immerse their feet or even fill containers to take these waters home. They are hyperthermal waters with weak mineralisation, radioactive, fluoridated with predominant ions of bicarbonate and sodium, very soft, with a spring temperature of 37.3ºCApart from these areas that appear in the video, there are also other private areas, the famous fountain of the Burgas and its thermal pool in the heart of the city, etc.
In the rest of the video we enjoy views of the city recorded from the Miño River with its bridges, including the Millennium Bridge or A Ponte Vella (Roman Bridge) and in the final part from the botanical garden of Montealegre.I hope you like it and if you have the opportunity to visit it, I assure you that it is worth it!Next video, night version
