Pointe Aux Chêne

Pointe Aux Chêne was heavily damaged by hurricane Ida. The area is still devastated but the resiliency of people calling this area home have come together to rebuild and pushing for more environmental protection in this beautiful sportsman's paradise.... A little tidbit (wikipedia) Pointe aux Chênes ("Oak Point") is an unincorporated community located in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana, United States. In Cajun French, the area is known as Pointe-aux-Chenes ("Oak Point"). The community shares a zip code with Montegut and has many residents of Chitimacha descent. In 1993, they established the independent Pointe-au-Chien Indian Tribe, which is one of three state-recognized Houma tribes.
