Reverie Above a Maine Pond
AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
The USA's New England is home to some of the country's most important wetlands. Away from the urban centers on the coast, you'll find sizeable areas of marshes, bogs, and swamps. Some of the best wetland areas are in Maine, which is the largest (by area) and most rural of the New England states. In this drone video by PeterBloch, you'll get a great bird's eye view of a pond which is surrounded by a quaking bog. These Maine wetlands are critical to the healthy functioning of the eco-system of the entire region.

This pond is fringed with a sphagnum moss quaking bog that is brilliantly colorful and surreal. The colors you see here are natural, not artificially enhanced. The body of water is named "Mud Pond" which is an unfortunate appellation for such a fantastic place. The location is Waterford, Maine, in the western-central part of the state.
I have purposely kept a slow pace to the length and kinetics of the clips, and I used long "cross-dissolve transitions" between clips. Along with the meditative music, all of the editing choices are meant to enhance the dreamy feel of the film.
For those of you who have been following my work for a while, I also made a film at this same pond one year ago. With a better drone and better camera, plus more experience in filming, editing and composing scenes, I think this iteration of the movie is much better.
Filmed with a Phantom 4 Pro.
