Ruppertsklamm Gorge Adventurous Ruppertsklamm gorge! Experience the unique adventure of the Ruppertsklamm gorge, that is nature reserve since 1936 and part of the hiking trails Rheinsteig and Lahnwanderweg. The Ruppertsklamm is an approx. 2km long gorge in a small vally of the Lahn river, wild and romantic at the same time. You scramble and climb across bridges and planks, partly secured with heavy ropes, and discover untouched nature while overcoming more than 250 metres altitude difference. Wanderweg Ruppertsklamm bei Lahnstein Die Ruppertsklamm bei Lahnstein gehört sicher zu den Höhepunkten des Rheinsteigs. Der kleine Bach hat die Klamm auf rund zwei Kilometern tief in den Tonschiefer und Sandstein eingegraben An schwierigen Stellen sind Stufen in den Fels gehauen, kleine Brücken gebaut oder Seile zum festhalten gespannt. Trotzdem sollte man bei großer Nässe sehr vorsichtig sein, der vermooste Fels wird dann extrem glitschig. Die Klamm ist über die B260 gut zu erreichen (s. Anfahrt). Man betritt die Klamm durch das hölzerne Eingangstor. Zunächst beginnt der Weg als normaler Waldweg, wird aber schnell steiler und man muß sich schonmal mit einem der gespannten Seile helfen. Oben erwartet einen die leider nicht bewirtschaftete Schutzhütte Ruppertsklamm. Den Weg schafft man gut in einer knappen Stunde. Die Ruppertsklamm ist Naturschutzgebiet und wurde zwischen 1910 und 1912 vom Naturfreund Theodor Zais erschloßen. Eine Gedenktafel errinnert unterwegs daran.
