From several points of the city of Cuenca is able to see the peaks of the mountains that adorn this city, one of them, perhaps little known is the top of the mountain “Tres Picos” (Three Peaks), named for the appearance that has to be observed from Cuenca city, however, are two summits that appear from the distance to be 3 rocky peaks. This mountain is located in the Cordillera del Filo de Yacupiana, at Moras Pugro sector, dividing the valleys of the Quinuas and Llaviuco rivers. With 4036 MASL. it is the most outstanding point of the Cordillera del Filo de Yacupiana, which offers a wide panorama of the highest peaks of the Cajas National Park. To the southwest of Tres Picos, a small valley with 3 lagoons is located; it is San Antonio, a micro-basin whose waters flow towards the Llaviuco River through a vertiginous stream full of waterfalls. San Antonio is an important area for the conservation of wildlife species such as frogs of the genus Atelopus and mammals such as white-tailed deer. Quilico visited this place and shows us a scenario where the montane forest merges with the páramo ecosystem. Music: Above Beyond - Filmic HD
